English, London and more!

I have always loved London. One day I will live there - at least for a while. In the meantime I have to content myself with visiting the Thames City as often as I can. There is always something new to do! I spent last weekend there and made the most of it, i.e. as much as the weather permitted.

For instance, on Saturday afternoon it stopped raining for a while and we decided to try the new system of bike hiring recently started in the City. It was just great! Riding around Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens is just an experience everybody visiting London should try. And at the same time we got a glimpse of the latest Anish Kapoor's exhibition right in the middle of the bushes, tress and lakes!

Then on Sunday it was time for some jazz... so a free concert at the Barbican Centre was our next destination. The Soul Rebel Brass Band were playing for free as part of the London Jazz Festival.

Alright then, so what a great weekend! But, but, but in the end I didn't do one of the things I had planned to do. So I guess I have to wait until the next visit. I am thinking about the great exibition the British Library has just opened  - and will be on display until April 3rd, for those of you who might visit the capital of England during the next months.

Some of you may be wondering why I am talking about an exhibition in a blog about learning English. Well, that is exactly the point! First of all the exibition is called Evolving English. One Language, Many Voices, so perhaps this can give you a hint of the reasons why it is related to my blog.

To be continued.
